Try the AMA website. They have a plans service. I just built one from thier planes and it was pretty easy. The AMA even sent a copy of the build article from MA magazine which help in the building of the plane. The plans also included a list of the materials needed to build it. Here is the link to the AMA's website. http://www.modelaircraft.org/

If new to building you might consider a Kit as a first plane rather than a plan build. Breaks you in more gently without need for a book, then next move to a plan build, and finally scratch build.

I am most of the way through my first Kit - a SlowPoke 15 from Great Planes, and am loving it.

Default RC Aircraft Plans for Beginners, Intermediates and Experts

There's a new website being prepared at the moment by a fellow club mate and friend, specifically aimed at scratch building RC Scale Aircraft. It's aimed at beginners, intermediates and experts. Aswell as hundreds of 3 view plans, in PDF, Dwg, Dxf and EDRW covering a wide range of aircraft, there is a special section being developed for an interactive guide targeted at the beginner and intermediate for which i am involved. It comes as a DVD and takes you through step by step with 3D models of each step of build with rotate and zoom facility, print etc. It covers everything, tools, prep work, build, covering, engine, servo, battery installation, finishing, testing, aging, you name it. Will include video footage of the model, but also the real thing, the planes full history etc. First 4 i'm working on is Curtis XP55, Vought XP54, XP56 and Flying Pancake.

I am doing some of the designs for the new stuff for him which should be launched in December 2007. www.rcaircraftplans.co.uk Not active yet, (directs you to Easily.Co.Uk holding page), as he's just got the UK retail rights for Arizona Models www.arizonamodels.com and uploading all the products for that. That product range is generally for intermediate to expert and provides top quality scale Vintage Planes, including plans, kits, accessories etc, right up to 1/3 scale. I'm doing some of the dummy engine designs for them also. The site includes scale cockpits from www.inzpan.com and retracts etc from www.eurokitlucca.it .

Will feed you more as the site develops, but bookmark it.
